Spring Is Coming...

I don't know why I feel so occupied with Penny Westwood...maybe she is whispering to me, urging me to post the words she wrote, since her blog was taken away, too soon, from her many friends...Luckily, there were several of her posts, which I subscribed to, I had not deleted.  As I said, I have some of her posts, but the photographs automatically were deleted along with her blog. I found several of our emails as well.  I will keep them for awhile...

She wrote this the day before her accident...

Spring is coming....

"It's the sort of fine sunny morning when one senses that warmer times are just over the hill and frolicking behind the trees. There are clear blue skies beyond the windows and several happy Grey Butcherbirds dancing about and hoo-eeing uproariously at their own jokes. A Crimson Rosella is singing a jubilant spring song, but he is much too far away to capture even with my telephoto lens. I can see his splash of brilliant red though, at the top of a liquid amber tree one street away.

This morning, I can feel springtime light and warmth returning. The early sun is shining like butterscotch through the leaves of the plants in the south facing dining room, and out in the garden, a light breeze is moving elegantly curled daffodils about with enthusiasm.

Just in the last day or two, new leaves have appeared on the trees and there are minuscule rosy buds on many of the shrubs in the garden. Hallelujah. . ."

Thank you for bringing Penny to me, Donna. I am overwhelmed by the beauty of her writing. She may be speaking to you, but also to me. At first I wondered why spring is coming instead of fall, but then I remember she lived Down Under. I send a prayer to her family and all who grieve for her. Blessings to you, and thank you, Donna.

I am glad you are sharing her writings with us, Donna. I wonder if because she was close in age to you and you had a connection with her through online if that is why you are so drawn to thinking about her....it is sad she was taken so young; what a talented writer she was

DJan, you are too kind. I am glad you don't feel I am being too melancholy posting some of her blog posts...I have over 70 of them I did not delete...

I agree, she does write and express herself so beautifully. I just think it is so sad it was snuffed out so soon. Thank you for always lifting me up in your comments and for sending prayers to the family. Blessings to you too.

betty...Penny was 59 and I am 63. It is so unique, because she is the only blog I had subscribed to. I still don't know why I did...

I was drawn to her from that first poem. We emailed back and forth sharing about our lives, family and hobbies. Some times I would read her posts and delete them, and there were several I had saved and have not read, because I had gotten so behind. Thank goodness in being behind..., otherwise I would not have her blog posts.

I can't help feel there was destiny at work, and for some reason, we were suppose to meet via our blogs. I know it sounds spooky, but I just feel "close" to her and I don't know why. It's like subsciously I know something that consciously I don't know, I just feel it...and am compelled to post some of her writing...as if I am following an instinct... Does that make any sense at all?

Oh Donna, I know you feel for this gal - I am so sorry you are hurt - I know what you are feeling to some extent. Take your time to mourn and grieve and question. It is okay!
