Pain....

pain is an interesting teacher...
lying on my back
unable to sit
creates many hours
of thought...
conclusions and insight
repeatedly slapping my attention
like the sledge hammer
slamming into my lower back...
promises made
prayers offered
if only this would stop...

now,
with answered prayers,
starting to feel better,
being a woman
of my word
promises
must
be kept...
irritation
erupting into the realization
in taking my health
for granted...
hating dieting and exercise
I hate dieting more...
so exercise is my anthem
my song of songs
my path back to freedom...

I'm so sorry you are still dealing with this back pain. I wish you wrll with the exercise. I've started walking and dieting myself. Now I just had to stick to it!

I liked your poem, Donna, I'm sure being "forced" to think like this with nothing much else to do puts things into perspective. Everything in moderation the Bible says; finding that moderation, especially with food is something I have trouble with; healthy eating and moving the body more seems to be the answer, I'm sure you'll come up with the plan that works best for you!

Thanks for your email, I do hope you are starting to feel better. I like the poem very creative, even if not a fun subject to write about.

Walking and eating with the purpose to be healthy works best! One doesn't feel restricted that way...it puts a positive spend to it. Don't Diet...Just Eat Healthy and Walk!

You have a lot of us cheering for you, including me, for sure! I am hoping that once you see some results it will trigger your desire for more, since I know that's what happened for me. Although I do know it's a hard thing to get started, and I am praying for you!!

Something positive came out of your back pain - that excellent poem! I am so sorry to hear that you have been laid up and feeling so poorly with your back. I pray that the pain will go away and that you will be well again. We've certainly missed you my friend. I hope that you dad is alright. Take care. Onwards & upwards!

Thank you so much my dear friends... I am feeling much better. I am taking it slow and doing my best to not OVER DO...

I am in the midst of re-organizing and re-prioritizing my life... I will be around...just not as often...for now.

Big hugs and Blessings to you all! :}
