Magpie # 74: Mask of Deception

Photograph by Tess Kincaid
Challenge and hosted by Magpie Tales

eyes cast down
shielding
shy with confrontation
restraint for conversation
inward
as mental eyes
stare, fixed, catatonic
do not speak
do not think
blend in
afraid
fearing
the slightest
attention
keep smiling
keep hiding
behind
a mask
of
deception

Indeed. I think we all wear masks at times.

People seem to be using the new "join" feature without any problems. I've signed up for a couple, and I see you now have 80 followers!

The poem is very inward looking...
