Magpie #75: She Caressed Danger...

Photo from Tess Kincaid
Challenge and hostessed by Magpie Tales

she was drawn to
risk like a moth to a flame
she craved the excitement
she caressed danger
where most hearts
would pound with anticipation
hers would slow down
to a hypnotic sense of calm
she rode a bicycle
on a tightrope
high above the crowds
of a circus
without a net...
most would remove the rubber tire
and ride on the rims
she left the rubber tires on...
she would not only stop,
frequently, upon the tightrope,
relishing the gasps
of apprehension
below...
she would
rhythmically move
in a slow dance
of ecstasy
as if she were
bathing in scented oils
sliding across her skin...
 her eyes would close
to a slit
like a cat napping
in the sunlight
of a nearby window...
she stretched,
slow and reverently
pointing to the heavens
whispering
grateful purrs
in doing
what she loved to do....

Whoa! This does sound inviting, but I do wonder: did she pass to the other side of the rope intact? A beautiful image, Donna...

I was sitting right there under the big tent, gasping along with the rest of the crowd! Great description!

Fantastic take on the prompt. It's as though she's reveling in the risk and the thrill.
