Poppies, Weight Loss and Six Word Saturday...

from Google images....

Poppies are such happy little flowers...
I've been googling images
hoping it will distract
the spasms in my back...

I need to exercise....but I don't want to.  Otherwise I would do more of it...maybe it is the heat?  No, it is an intense dislike for exercise....unless it involves dancing I'm not interested.  We are hibernating inside the house to stay cool.

While eating lunch the other day, I was playing a game on my iPad.  I decided every time I got a 15 free spin bonus, I would stand and do the Twist to the zippy music...Fortunately, or unfortunately, the free spins kept coming and I kept Twisting, until it was easier to just stop playing the game.

Yesterday I woke up sore from my ribs down to my waist...and my back, right side ribs are spasming...
The numbers on my scale this morning indicate my anti exercise attitude needs to change.

Looking back, I remember myself saying, "Oh my Lord....there is NO WAY I'm going to weigh...." and then not only do I pass that weight, but continue to gain even more.  I have said it before, but I far surpassed the weight I was when I was pregnant with my both my girls more than 33 years ago...
I NEVER thought I would ever weigh what I do...and I have only myself to blame.

I scheduled my MRI with and without contrast for next Tuesday.  Despite my claustrophobia, I have had to change my attitude.  I can be brave and endure for 45 minutes.  I will take the sedation meds and focus on the faces of my three grand sons...their faces will get me through...

I want to be a happy, cheerful little Poppy, so I have to change my attitude and thinking...
I don't want to, but I am going up to our gym, with my bathing suit and walking the pool.  Every day I vow to move for at least one hour in some form of exercise.  I want to live.  I want to lose weight, therefore I must move.  I confess this to the world to be accountable for my actions.

Living in denial, stunts my life.

Six Word Saturday...With A Trip To Springs Reserve...

Anxiously waiting family arriving for Easter...

Family arrived safely.  We went to the Springs Reserve and walked around enjoying natural trails, flora and fauna, flash flood experience, living green examples, Paiute Indian village, Garden center with native plants, flowers and trees, animal feedings..and more...(see the link above).

They had an EggStravaganza and picture with the Easter Bunny.  We arrived close to quitting time for the EB, and the line was too long...so we took this picture of my daughter, her boyfriend and baby Jacob...

I am holding Jacob in front of Jeff, that's why Jeff's rear is sticking out so far!

We are all pooped...so heading to my bed for a nap...everyone else is already crashed out...after we rest a bit, we are off for a two for one buffet at Green Valley Ranch....  zzzzzzzzzz....

Six Word Saturday and Updates...

Taxes are done, back is better..

Thankfully, the CPA picked up all the paperwork and totals for our taxes.  He told us he should have it finished within a week.  Normally, I do our taxes online with the free H & R Block program.  This year, with my husband's retirement and all the roll overs and setting up of our new retirement program...I did not want to take a chance...

I will resume my mission to reduce our utilities next week... I had one set back today.  I had called our land line, Internet provider (Century Link) to change to the lower long distance plan I had been told we could get.  I found out she was a new employee and gave me wrong information. Instead of reducing our bill by $50, it will only be by $39.  We will no longer have an option to dial long distance, or have a message service or call waiting, but we will still have our low rate for our Internet.  We will use our cell phones for long distance.

Most of our messages are from doctor and dental offices confirming our appointments.  We'll just have to have them call our cell phones instead.  Anyone we care about reaching us, will know to call our cell phones.

Our cell phone service, through Verizon, has 1400 shared monthly minutes which also includes 10 free phone numbers which are not with Verizon.  I have the nursing home where Dad stays on that list.

We pay our electric and gas bills on level pay already, but I want to talk to each utility company to get ideas how to lower our energy use.  I will do that next week.

I have been able to resume my purge in our office.  Some where in the purge, I am missing my "good copy" of Gifts From The Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh.  I have been reading my old, original copy, which is literally falling apart.  I plan on using the pages in a creative journal project... so guess I will be purchasing another copy.

We plan on getting together with our friends, another couple, this weekend for dinner and a movie.  The weather is so nice, we'll barbecue on our back patio.

Happy weekend to everyone...

An Opportunity To Learn So Much More...

My Mom sent this to me in an email....

What an incredible reaction between mammal and human...

Who are we?
Put together in nature
Two legged and four
Feathered and flippered
For an opportunity
To learn so much more...

Six Word Saturday...

While visiting blogs this morning, http://www.showmyface.com/ hosts a Six Word Saturday (see my side bar to pick up the html if you want a link).  Her challenge is to describe your life in six words...here's mine:

Going to lose weight during holidays
